Subject: type 2 diabetes & gluten intolerance

I have type 2 diabetes and just found out I have gluten intolerance.  I haven't been able to figure out what I can eat.  I have been leaving grains out of my diet.  What should I do?

Subject: peas and carrots?

Is it ok to eat peas & carrots if you have diabetes?  I heard to avoid those two veggies.

Childhood obesity and school lunch... What's your take?

There is an alarming prevalence of obese children in the U.S.  We often hear the school lunch program is to blame... but is school lunch really the culprit?

If a child attends school 180 days a year and eats school lunch each of those days, this would equal 16% of the child's total meals for the year.  Assuming a child eats 3 meals a day (180 meals divided by 1095 total meals for a year = 16%).

What's your take?  What do you think is the cause of today's childhood obesity epidemic?
